Vergenoegd Löw MCC Chenin Blanc 2023
Vergenoegd Löw MCC Chenin Blanc 2023
Exclusive Japan Debut: Only 60 Bottles Available
Originally a hidden gem reserved exclusively for visitors to the estate, this rare Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) has finally reached Japanese shores. After tasting its exceptional quality at the winery, our team personally negotiated to secure a tiny allocation of just 60 bottles. This is a rare opportunity to experience 100% Chenin Blanc sparkle from one of South Africa’s most historic estates.
Sensory Experience
Pure Elegance in Every Bubble:
-
Appearance: A delicate golden straw hue that glimmers in the glass.
-
Aroma: Fresh, crisp apple notes lead the way, followed by zesty grapefruit and a sophisticated hint of toasted yeast from its 12-month maturation.
-
Palate: Crafted using the traditional champagne method, the mousse is remarkably fine and elegant. A creamy texture and alluring yeasty complexity harmonize beautifully with refreshing flavors of green apple and pear.
Whether you are celebrating a milestone or simply elevating a quiet evening, this MCC turns any moment into a special occasion.
The 2023 Vintage Report
The 2022/23 season was blessed with ideal growing conditions: a dry, mild winter followed by timely rains that boosted grape quality. A cool, humid ripening period allowed the Chenin Blanc grapes to mature slowly and develop intense aromatic concentration. While yields were lower than previous years, the resulting fruit was of extraordinary quality.
Gourmet Pairings
Thanks to its Chenin Blanc base, this sparkling wine is incredibly food-friendly and versatile:
-
The Classics: A match made in heaven for fresh Oysters, Caviar, or blinis with sour cream.
-
Salmon Selection: Pairs perfectly with Salmon Sushi, creamy Penne al Salmone, or lemon-butter grilled salmon.
-
Everyday Dining: The crisp acidity makes it an excellent companion for Japanese "Nabe" (hot pot) and traditional Washoku.
-
Rich Textures: Beautifully complements butter-rich dishes.
